OBJECTIVES

1.      To foster brotherhood among Muslim students of various Islamic Medical Associations (IMAs) and countries.

2.      To enhance mutual understanding and cooperation.

3.      To exchange information and experiences.

4.      To provide leadership training and organizational skills.

5.      To strengthen the involvement of students in IMA activities.

6.      To promote communication and networking among the student chapters of IMAs and other countries.

7.      To promote the students' levels in the field of Islamic Culture and Education.

8.      To enable the participants to perform Umrah and visit the Two Holy Cities, Makkah and Al-Madinah, within a group trip under a special supervision and guidance.

 Overview of the program

  • An international annual congregation of Muslim medical students affiliated to Islamic Medical Associations (IMAs) from all over the world.
  • The students participate in a constructed and directed spiritual, educational, cultural, and social, program.
  • The operations follow closely the scouting camp system.
  • The administration of the program activities is primarily run by the students under supervision by senior doctors.
 Programme Outline

  • Directed and guided Umrah and visit to the Holy mosques in Makkah and Al_madinah.
  • Visits to Islamic historic and famous relic places
  • Lectures, roundtable discussions, workshops & Seminars
  • Project presentation
  • Meetings and visits
  • Spiritual sessions
  • Cultural show
  • Outdoor activities and sports
  • Educational tours
Who Should Attend

  • Students of Medical and Health Colleges who are affiliated to and/or nominated by Islamic Medical Associations members of FIMA. (Individual application is not allowed).
  • “Students” can be extended to include students from 3rd year in college until 3 years after graduation to allow for senior and postgraduate students.
  • Only "male" participants are allowed in this activity at the current stage.
  • “Medical and Health Colleges” could be college of any health specialty such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences or any other health-related college.
  • Nominated participants have to be active in his student chapter with potential leadership capacity as recommended by his IMA.
  • Participant has to be good in English language
  • Participants are expected to be reasonably versed and very committed from Islamic point of view.
Number of Participants

  • The total number of participants is 50 students.
  • Each IMA has the chance to nominate 1- 6 Students. This quota is subject to the accreditation of the organizing committee based on the size of the student chapter and on IMA participation in FIMA International Students Activities as decided by FIMA and IMAKSA.
Language of The Program

  • The field language is English.
  • The lecturers will specify their language of delivery. Simultaneous Arabic/English translation is provided.

 Expenses

  • The IMAs and/or individual participants are responsible for the cost of their return tickets, as well as their Visa fees.
  • There are NO registration fees for the program.
  • Accommodation, meals and local transportation will be provided FREE OF CHARGE by IMAKSA during the specified days of the program. Cost of days before or after this period is incurred by the participants.
  • Receiving of participants is only possible at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah provided that full information about registered participants and their itinerary is received at least one weak before arrival day. 
  • All transportation during the program will be arranged for all participants who abide with program timing and regulations.

 Visa Requirements

  • Visa for entry into Saudi Arabia (visit visa or Umrah visa) is the SOLE RESPONSIBILITY of the IMAs and/or the participants.
  • IMAKSA or WAMY unfortunately CANNOT secure visas for the participants. However, an invitation letters can be issued from IMAKSA, WAMY only if it is requested at least 2 months earlier (Deadline for requesting invitation letter is 18 Dec. 2008)

 Registration

  • The registration deadline is 15 January 2009.
  • Registration is mandatory for all participants. The applications must be submitted to Supervisor of the Umrah program or the regional FIMASAC coordinator through their IMAs (president or chairman of students chapter).  Direct individual application is not accepted.
  • Documents needed for registration (To be sent by IMA):

1.      Completed Registration Form designed in Excel for this purpose (attached) for all delegates.

2.      An electronic copy of participants' passports.

3.      IMA Database Form (attached).

  • Complete forms and documents can be e-mailed or faxed to the address shown below.
  • Registration is only valid after receiving acknowledgement and acceptance letter from organizing committee or Supervisor General of the program.

Seminar Fiqh Perubatan II: Ke Arah Hospital Mesra Ibadah

Salam.


Kewajipan melakukan ibadah itu tidak akan putus selagi mana seseorang itu masih bergelar Muslim. Namun kewajipan ini kurang dititik beratkan oleh pesakit, keluarga pesakit malahan kakitangan hospital sendiri

 “tangan saya kena simen, macamane nak ambil wuduk? Tak payah solat la macam ni”

“aku puasa hari ni, tapi tadi kena inject…batal ke tak puasa aku?”

Ramai pesakit memberi alasan sukar untuk mengambil wudhuk dan solat mengambil jalan mudah dengan meninggalkan solat. Senario ini wujud mungkin akibat dari salah faham terhadap konsep ’thabat wal murunah’ dalam Islam berkaitan dengan ibadah wajib termasuklah ibadah solat, puasa dan haji. Kebanyakan  pesakit menganggap keuzuran mereka membolehkan mereka untuk meninggalkan ibadah wajib sedangkan Islam ada menggariskan cara-cara beribadah ketika sakit.

Hal ini menunjukkan pentingnya untuk kita mewujudkan  hospital mesra ibadah untuk memudahkan pesakit melaksanakan rukun-rukun Islam tersebut. Selain dari struktur dan kemudahan asas yang mesra ibadah, kakitangan hospital dan saudara mara terdekat juga perlu tahu tentang konsep-konsep asas ibadah pesakit  serta rukhsah/kemudahan Islam kerana merekalah yang banyak berada bersama pesakit.

Atas kesedaran ini, Royal College of Medicine, Perak akan menganjurkan  Seminar Fiqh Perubatan Islam II pada 13 Disember 2008 yang bertemakan ‘Ke Arah Hospital Mesra Ibadah’. Kami, mengalu-alukan penyertaan dan kehadiran semua pelajar dan kakitangan dari seluruh IPT dalam dan luar Negara.

OVERVIEW OF THE CAMP

- An annual gathering of Muslim medical students from all over the
world.

- The students participate in a comprehensive program of educational,
cultural, social, sport, tourist and recreational activities.

- The operations follow closely the scouting camp system.

- The administration of the camp and its activities are primarily run
by the students themselves under supervision by senior doctors

- The duration of the camp is full 6 days.

*WHO SHOULD ATTEND*

- Students of Medical and Health Colleges who are affiliated to and/or
nominated by Islamic Medical Associations.
- "Students" can be extended to include first year house officer or
newly graduate.
- Both males and females may be accepted for participation in this
camp.
- "Medical and Health Colleges" could be college of medicine,
dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences or any other health-related college.
- "Islamic Medical Associations" (IMAs) should be active, associate or
pending members of FIMA.

*Male and Female Segregation:*

- In this particular camp, female medical students are welcome to
participate with observation of the following conditions:


1. The males and females will be absolutely segregated in all
activities during the whole period of program including residence, dining
and sports places, transportation, recreational and social activities.


1. The only occasion were both males and females may share the
activity is the cultural program in morning sessions from 9:00 AM to 1 PM.
In such gathering there will be arrangement of each of them to be seated in
one side of the lecture room. However, both groups will share questions and
discussion.
2. Needless to say, both males and females are expected to be dressed
in a descent Islamic style.

*NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS *


- 150 students
- Each IMA is allowed a maximum of 10 students, with more quotas for
the organizing IMA and the host country. When females are participating, the
male to female ratio should be 2:1.
- Supervisors: Each IMA should nominate 1 senior student to be the
supervisor for the delegation. This supervisor is expected to take care of
the communication between the camp supervisor and his IMA/delegation.

*EXPENSES*

- The IMAs or individual students are responsible for the cost of
their return tickets to hosting country as well as their Visa fees.
- There are NO registration fees for the camp.
- Accommodation, meals and local transportation will be provided FREE
OF CHARGE by IMAKSA/WAMY during the sole days of camp activities.
- Participants are responsible for expenses of their stay during days
outside the program period.

*ENTRY VISAS*

- Visa for entry into the hosting country is the SOLE RESPONSIBILITY
of the IMAs and/or the participants.
- IMAKSA, WAMY or IIMA unfortunately CANNOT secure visas for the
participants.
- To avoid problems of entry visa, visitors should make sure that the
expiry date of their passports is ATLEAST 6 months AfTEr THE DATE of
expected return departure.
- The country status for entry visa to Indonesia is shown in details
in the attached file tilted *"Country Status for Visa"*. It is
extremely important to check the status of your country for visa now.


*FLIGHT RESERVATION*

- Participants are advised to arrange their flight reservation in
ahead of time.
- The nearest airports that can be the final destination are Malang or
Surabaya airports. The number of flights from Jakarta to Malang is very
limited compared to those from Jakarta to Surabaya. In usual time (outside
the rush hours) it takes approximately one and a half hour by bus from
Surabaya to Malang.

*RECEPTION*

- Receiving of participants at Airport of Malang or Surabaya and
transportation to camp site will be arranged free of charge only if the full
details of the confirmed flights of the participants are submitted to us
ahead of time *(at least one week before the camp i,e. before 12 July
2008)*
- The camp administration is not responsible for reception of those
who fail to abide with this condition.
- In communication with us for the itinerary of participants, we
strongly encourage you to use the attached form titled *"Flight
Details Form"* for clarity and convenience.
- Upon acceptance of registration, we will send you the contacts
numbers for reception committee in airports.

Pelawaan ke Inter-Medical Games 2008




Berita baik untuk semua! Inter-Medical Games 2008 akan diadakan pada hujung minggu ini. Pelajar-pelajar daripada institusi perubatan di seluruh Malaysia amat dialu-alukan untuk datang menyertai dan memeriahkan lagi karnival sukan yang hebat ini. Ianya akan diadakan di Kompleks Rakan Muda, Puchong.

Tujuan Inter-Medical Games 2008 diadakan adalah untuk mengeratkan lagi hubungan antara sekolah-sekolah perubatan di Malaysia. Selain itu, karnival ini dibuat untuk memastikan kesemua pelajar perubatan yang ada untuk memiliki badan yang sihat di samping minda cerdas.

Antara acara-acara yang dipertandingkan ialah bola jaring(perempuan), bola tampar(lelaki), bola keranjang (lelaki), futsal (lelaki & perempuan).
